Choosing industrial ductwork shouldn’t come down to the price per foot of straight pipe. While spiral pipe may offer a lower initial material cost, US Duct and US Tubing are designed as complete systems that provide advantages in installation speed, durability, adjustability, sealing, and long-term value. This article compares spiral pipe with US Duct and US Tubing, highlighting key differences in construction, connections, leakage performance, field installation, and lifecycle costs. US Duct offers a strong, modular, adjustable solution for dust collection, most fume applications, and industrial air movement, while US Tubing provides a guaranteed leak-free connection for applications where air or fluid cannot escape. With clamp-together installation that can reduce installation time by approximately 70%, plus components that can be disassembled, modified, and reused, US Duct and US Tubing can deliver value well beyond the initial material price. The right choice ultimately depends on the system’s specific requirements for strength, sealing, installation speed, adjustability, and long-term flexibility.
Clamp-Together Duct System from US Duct
The Quick-Connect, Quick-Assembly, No-Weld Ductwork
Our Laser-Welded Clamp-Together Ducting (CTD) uses a gasketed, over-center clamp that seals the rolled lip on the end of ALL clamp-fitting ductwork components.
At US Duct, we know more about Clamp-Together Ductwork than anyone. We provide ALL components and special fittings. The system is infinitely adjustable with adjustment capability built into EVERY fitting.
While Clamp Together Duct is often the fastest, easiest and cheapest way to address dust/mist collection, it is often best used in conjunction with other connection methods as dictated by the application, or duct size. Our extensive knowledge will enable you to get the best solution—for the application AND the money.
Quack about quick and easy ductwork! How it works:
- Our Clamp-Together system? It’s all about that smooth connection! Picture this: a rolled lip (kind of like a mini 55-gallon barrel rim) formed on the end of every part. These lips lock together using a gasketed, over-center clamp that snugly seals the deal. Whether it’s pipe or special hoods, ALL parts are ready to roll with rolled lips.
- Need options? We’ve got the materials to fit your bill! Choose from galvanized or stainless steel. Standard gauges run from 18-24, with the rolled lip directly formed onto the pipe itself. For those heavier-duty jobs (up to 10 gauge), we use a separate collar that fits like it was made for it—because it was.
- The best part? The Clamp-Together system is as flexible as a duck landing on water. Thanks to a combo of our 11”adjustable sleeve and the integral adjustable collar on each fitting, this system is infinitely adjustable. Whether you’re a pro or waddling into ductwork for the first time, you’ll save up to 70% on installation time. Quack yeah, that’s efficiency!
