Selecting the right duct material is critical for chemical and wastewater applications where corrosive fumes, moisture, and harsh operating conditions can shorten system life. This guide compares galvanized steel, stainless steel, and flanged ductwork, helping engineers, contractors, and plant managers choose the best solution for long-term performance, reliability, and corrosion resistance.
Stitched Elbows
Stitch-welded elbows, or stitched halves, are galvanized metal elbows that are stamped out using mechanical presses and forming dies, resulting in a very tight elbow.
The stamping process does limit the gauge & diameter (up to 22 gauge and 1xD or 1.5xD) that can be used with this kind of elbow, so when using larger sizes, the application should be limited to light dust or air up to 8".
Available in 3-10" and 12".
